112th Carnival of Personal Finance at The Frugal Law Student

This week, the 112th Carnival of Personal Finance is being hosted by The Frugal Law Student.

Here are a couple of posts I’d like to highlight, both from blogs new to me:

Journey2Retirement really gave me something to think about with his post on why he has life insurance on his child. It’s an unconventional thought and while I’m not completely convinced, he makes an excellent point.

The Chief Family Officer tells us why she keeps her family’s emergency fund in a traditional, low-interest account. Though I don’t share her aversion to internet-only banks, I do see her point that doing so keeps things less cluttered. I think it’s also a great idea, like she points out, to have some cash on hand in the house for your disaster kit.
