Get Your Foreign Transaction Credit Card Refund
Just a quick reminder for those who traveled outside the U.S. during the period February, 1996 through November, 2006 and used a major credit card to make purchases, you may file a claim to have some credit card fees reimbursed.
As part of a class-action settlement, Mastercard and Visa are refunding a minimum of $25 to people who used their cards on foreign travel during that time period. See ccfsettlement.com for full details.
As I read it, you can either file to have your actual fees reimbursed (if you have the supporting documentation) or a flat minimum of $25.

yep, just got mine in the mail today and signed up through the site for Option 1 ($25). Glad I saw it here before getting the letter as I probably would have trashed it otherwise. You earned me $25, but you’re not getting any of it!

It is still awaiting final court approval though? God, this is going to take me a while, since I traveled a lot during those years. Thanks for the notice. I’m living overseas, so I’m sure my notice never got to me.

After I shotgunned blasted the link to everyone i knew, I realized I should have done due diligence on researching to see if the site was actually legitimate since it requires inputting credit card account numbers as well as the last 4 of your social security number. That is some serious information to be giving out. Good thing the website checked out.

Do you know if these refunds have been issued yet to anyone? I opted for the $25 but haven’t got it yet.

I haven’t gotten mine, but I’m sure if the settlement even completed processing yet.

KMC - yeah you’re right now that I think about it the notice I got in the mail did say the settlement wasn’t complete yet. Does anyone know if the settlement is $25 for each card or per person? I only received the one notice for my Bank of America card. If I can do this for my other Visa and Mastercards too, I definitely will file.
