Kids & Money: I need your help

This past weekend, my wife mentioned she’d like to open up a savings account with, and for, our almost 4-year-old daughter. I agreed that would be a good idea and very soon the conversation broadened to teaching her about money in general. We kicked around a couple of ideas about chores, saving, and allowances, but didn’t decide anything. Basically, I said I’d research the topic of teaching kids about money.

Here’s where you come in.

I need help. I’ve seen bits and pieces of advice on teaching kids about money, but I need to put it all together. If anyone reading this has any good resources (articles, blog posts, books, whatever) on the subject, I’d really like to hear them.

So if you have anything I can read on helping kids learn good money lessons, please leave a comment. I truly appreciate it.

I think you are already providing your kids the financial education they need. By being a role model!

Kids learn by observing their parent’s actions, attitude and approach towards life. Your financially smart lifestyle will instill the same values in your kids.
