The Carnival of Personal Finance 122 is up

Mighty Bargain Hunter is hosting the 122nd edition of the Carnival of Personal Finance.

I recommend these three posts:

  • Flexo posts about how to handle old credit card accounts.  I love posts about credit management, not because of the content necessarily, but because they always get people fired up.  Check out some of the comments after Flexo’s article.
  • Jason Dean at Smart Money Daily has a short post on teaching kids about money.  I really like the idea of a ‘bank of dad.’  My wife and I briefly talked about how to introduce smart money management to our nearly 4-year-old.  Good stuff.
  •  From Real World Finances, a blog new to me, comes an article about the fallacy of the home mortgage interest deduction.  This is a really misunderstood concept and Curtis does a great job explaining why the deduction may not be all it’s cracked up to be.
