Use the Latte Factor and Keep Drinking Starbucks Coffee
Little known fact: You can employ the oft-derided ‘Latte Factor’ while simultaneously continuing to drink your Starbucks cappuccino.
Impossible you say?
Ever wonder why the smallest cup of coffee you can get at Starbucks is a ‘Tall?’
Because it’s not the smallest cup of coffee you can get at Starbucks, that’s why.
Though the menu never shows it and the web site doesn’t mention it, there exists a ‘Short’ cup of cappuccino at Starbucks.
It’s cheaper and better than a Tall. That’s because you get the same amount of espresso as a Tall, just less milk.
So now you can save two zillion dollars by the time you retire and keep drinking your daily Starbucks.

Short cups are not offered at Barnes & Noble Starbucks. I tried. The problem, I only have a taste for coffee when I’m reading. LOL

Like moneymonk I also only imbibe at bookstores. But my poison is Seattle’s Best at Borders. But since I do it a couple times per month on date night, I don’t consider it a “latte factor.”
Thanks for the headsup, though. I shall remember this if I’m ever at Starbucks (outside B&N).

@ Moneymonk - That’s interesting. I had no idea. I wonder how they can get away with that.

I had this very discussion with my barista at my last starbucks visit. The short is one shot of espresso, but the talls are two shots.

@ Not so Fast - not according to Starbucks’ own nutrition information. They show the same amount of caffeine. To me, that equals the same amount of coffee.
